The Academic Master's Program in Health Economics at the Universidad del Valle was created in 2023, through Resolution 032 of August 16, 2023, with the objective of training professionals capable of influencing decision-making that contributes to the well-being of the population for the construction of a just and democratic society.
At the time of its origin, the program was intended to satisfy the regional and Latin American needs related to the population, and it was projected to be recognized at the regional, national and Latin American level as a high-quality academic program with an interdisciplinary approach with the ability to transcend frontiers for the analysis and search for solutions to health problems related to social and economic dynamics
The Master's program in Health Economics is characterized among the university offering by the development of economic evaluation projects in health, as well as by its focus and lines of action in Public Policies and Health Systems, Asset Management and Health services.
The Master's Degree in Health Economics arises from the need to review and analyze health systems, which are recognized as the social and organized response of the States to the felt, expressed and demanded health needs of the population.
