Train research physiotherapists who contribute to the production and dissemination of knowledge in physiotherapy in the context of the current needs of the region and nation, to base professional practice and contribute to the well-being of society.

General Objective:

Develop research skills in students in areas of interest for physiotherapy, aimed at strengthening the work, knowledge and technological development that supports the profession.

Training Objectives:

  • Train masters capable of identifying problems related to research areas, raising questions and proposing relevant methodologies for their solution.
  • Stimulate the development of the capacity for reasoning and critical-reflective thinking so that masters can respond to the challenges of research in physiotherapy.
  • Train masters with solid skills for formulation, conceptualization, planning and intervention in the research area.
  • Promote the development of skills in the investigative, educational or clinical area to respond to the needs of the environment.
  • Generate skills in the formulation of development projects, in the areas of interest of physiotherapy.
  • Train masters with skills to work in interdisciplinary teams.
  • Strengthen in the student the ethical principles and personal, professional and social responsibility.
  • Promote leadership skills to address the diagnosis, solution of problems and situations related to the research area.

Professional Profile

The graduate of the master's degree will have the skills and competencies to:

  • Formulate, develop and manage research projects in the fields of physiotherapy offered by the master's degree.
  • Participate, propose and lead interdisciplinary research and development projects.
  • Generate adequate knowledge transfer processes to society, with a view to positively impacting the health of the population.
  • Contribute to the training of human resources in the field of physiotherapy.

Occupational Profile 

The physiotherapist who graduates from the Master's Degree in Physiotherapy will be able to work as:

  • Professional/researcher assigned to institutions providing health services, public or private, clinics or hospitals.
  • Professional/researcher for the design and execution of evaluation and intervention programs in any of the research areas, demonstrating skills to respond to the needs of the environment.
  • Consultant or advisor in public or private institutions or organizations in the development of prevention or intervention programs that cover any of the chosen research areas.
  • Trainer of other professionals, either in formal higher education institutions or in independent practice, or in university hospitals or other professional training centers.

 Registration and Admission Regulations

The Program is developed through the research modality. It is face-to-face and meetings are scheduled once a month (Thursday, Friday and Saturday), meaning that between 4 and 5 meetings are held per semester. The meeting schedule is sent in advance to facilitate the organization of your other activities.


Thursday from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Friday from 7 a.m. at 12 m. and from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
