Accommodation in the city

The university campus of University of del Valle does not have student residences. We recommend some reliable accommodations from the International Matters Office once you are accepted to the rotation.

Recommendations to enter the country

  • When you receive the acceptance letter, you must confirm your attendance to the scheduled rotation.
  • If your rotation is scheduled to last more than 180 days, you must process Colombian VISA at the Colombian Consulate nearest to you.
  • If your rotation is scheduled to last less than 180 days, it is not necessary to do Colombian VISA process, but you must print the Colombia Migration letter that will be sent by us. It must be presented to the Colombia Migration Agent along with your passport to give you a correct entry stamp. If your passport is not properly stamped, you must pay a penalty fee at Colombia Migration offices.
  • Cali airport is approximately 45 minutes from the city of Cali; please avoid taking unknown transports to your accommodation. University of Valle does not have its own transportation to offer this route, but you can contact the International Matters Office to give you the contact of a trusted person who can provide the service at a good price.
  • For your presentation to this office, you need to bring with you your physical passport, your University's original presentation letter, two photos with white background and cash for the payments you must make at University's treasury. If you need to make a change of currency we will give you advice, please avoid doing this alone. No cards are received.
  • If you do not have a Colombian cell phone number, it is important that you get one on your arrival. On this way you will be able to communicate via calls, text messages, or WhatsApp with us and your fellow students/residents during your rotation.
