The Doctorate in Ergonomics unites the efforts of two of the most important public universities in Colombia; the Universidad del Valle de Cali and the National University of Bogotá, to create a sustainable program that responds to current and future needs for high-level training and research in ergonomics. It has the support of the International Ergonomics Association (IEA), the Latin American Union of Ergonomics (ULAERGO), the Colombian Society of Ergonomics SCE and the Network of Universities in Ergonomics of Latin America and the Caribbean (RUELAC).
This program aims to train ergonomics researchers with a holistic, systemic, inclusive, social and environmental vision, capable of investigating and solving high-level knowledge problems that contribute to optimizing interactions between human beings and their environment in terms of performance, sustainability, well-being and good living at all scales, to contribute to the development of the discipline and profession of Ergonomics, promoting inter- and transdisciplinarity in addressing theoretical and practical problems under the recognition of local and regional diversity. In Latin America especially (of each country or territory).
In this way, the Doctorate in Ergonomics academic program is oriented towards the development of ergonomics that includes and transcends the current definition of ergonomics, contributing to its insertion from daily life practices to public policies and regulations. In addition, the Doctoral Program has a faculty of professors from various universities in Colombia and international universities in the United States, Canada, Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin America who will guide the research and doctoral theses.
