It was created by Resolution 010 of 2001 of the Higher Council. Approved by the Academic Council with Resolution 028 of 2001. 

The Orthodontic Specialization program of the Universidad del Valle, committed to cutting-edge technology, includes within its training the latest technologies in Mechatronic Digital Flows, Artificial Intelligence, 3D Additive Manufacturing, management of In-House and companion Aligners, through transversal courses and exclusive clinics in this management. 

Program with International Award AUIP Ibero-American Association of Postgraduate Studies.
 
Program with high international relationships, cutting-edge in aligner techniques, high technology in digital flows, robotics in artificial intelligence.

The postgraduate courses of the School of Dentistry seek the development and expansion of knowledge by providing fundamental, important training in the areas of knowledge that respond to the needs of the community and the environment.

The academic training of postgraduate courses seeks to expand knowledge through research to develop clinical skills and abilities that allow us to address the different oral health problems that affect our population.

The general objectives of the Academic Program are the following:

  1. Contribute to the comprehensive training of high-level professionals in the field of Orthodontics, allowing for comprehensive, broad, and socially and scientifically grounded training.
  2. Develop clinical and investigative experience and skills that enable the student to diagnose and treat all problems related to the specialty.
  3. To offer up-to-date training in the literature and management of techniques in Orthodontics.
  • Degree in Dentistry awarded by a national or foreign university, according to current regulations.
  • Compulsory Social Year completed or certified (Nationals).
  • Degree certifications indicating grade point average and position held.
  • Complete the admission form and pay the registration fees (non-refundable).
  • Pass the admission tests established for this purpose by the Office of Extension and Postgraduate Studies.
  • English proficiency exam.
  • Complete resume.
  • Pass the interview conducted by the selection committee.

Professional Profile 

The Orthodontic Specialist trained at the Universidad del Valle must be an expert clinician to supervise, guide and correct the appearance of anomalies in the growth and development of the cranio-dental-facial structures.

The graduate of the Orthodontics program must be a deep connoisseur of the evolutionary process of the human being and specifically must know the dynamic processes of transformation and change of the various components of the cranio-cervico-facial complex of the individual in all its stages of growth and development and its impact on the social well-being of our community.
