The postgraduate courses of the School of Dentistry seek the development and expansion of knowledge by providing fundamental training, important in the areas of knowledge, that respond to the needs of the community and the environment.

The academic training of postgraduate courses seeks to expand knowledge through research to develop clinical skills and abilities that allow us to address the different oral health problems that affect our population.

  • Provide training in the theoretical foundations and advances in the different areas of Dentistry to apply them to the care of adult patients based on scientific evidence.
  • To train in the research, prevention and diagnosis of pathologies of the cranio-cervico-maxillofacial system, concerning the specialty.
  • To train in commitment to their social environment to make their specialty an instrument of service to the community.
  • Degree in Dentistry awarded by a national or foreign university, according to current regulations.
  • Compulsory Social Year completed or certified (Nationals).
  • Degree certifications indicating grade point average and position held.
  • Complete the admission form and pay the registration fees (non-refundable).
  • Pass the admission tests established for this purpose by the Office of Extension and Postgraduate Studies.
  • English proficiency exam.
  • Complete resume.
  • Pass the interview conducted by the selection committee.

Professional Profile 

The Oral Rehabilitation specialist from the Universidad del Valle will be able to:

  • Integrate advances in different areas of Dentistry to apply them to the clinical care of adult patients.
  • To rationally apply theoretical foundations and technical advances in the clinical care of adult patients, always based on scientific evidence.
  • Develop solutions to social problems related to Oral Rehabilitation.
  • Join multidisciplinary teams to solve complex problems in patients with physical and/or mental limitations, as well as those affected by systemic problems.

The postgraduate courses of the School of Dentistry of the Universidad del Valle are based on the philosophy that the institution itself establishes for all its undergraduate and graduate areas, based on the comprehensive training of specialists, experts in the clinical performance of their specialty, with a high social projection and academic character and characteristics of research and teaching.

  • Having completed and passed the subjects of the academic program and fulfilled the credits of the same.
  • Carry out the support of a research paper.
  • Process the internal Clearance Certificate for the School and Library.
  • Cover certification fees in accordance with established institutional policies.
  • Resolution 042 of June 2006 created the Academic Program of Specialization in Oral Rehabilitation.
  • Resolution 072 of June 2006, which regulates the Curriculum for the Specialization in Oral Rehabilitation.
