Mission

The Mission of the University of Valle Nursing School is the comprehensive training of professionals that lead nursing care of people, families and groups. Based on a holistic approach, it is promoted a sense of professional belonging, teamwork, interdisciplinary work, construction, validation and application of knowledge, self-discipline, self-awareness, self-care, creativity and respect for the other, for excellence pursuit, in order to improve quality life and society transformation.

Objectives

To train nursing professionals capable of:

  1. Conduct nursing research that leads to application and deepening of knowledge in the discipline.
  2. Participate in interdisciplinary research that promotes innovations in the services provided and in training of human resources in health.
  3. Prepare, develop and evaluate nursing care for individuals, families and community groups, based on scientific knowledge of the discipline and related disciplines.
  4. Participate in design of health policies, strategies and programs that improves the health care of individuals, families and community groups.
  5. Plan, execute and evaluate human talent training programs in nursing.
