Mission

To train suitable professionals in assistance, teaching, administrative and investigative functions, inherent to the specialty of Trauma and Emergencies Surgery, in accordance with needs that the country has in this aspect. Also, acquire scientific, theoretical-practical knowledge and sufficient abilities to face problems and characteristic diseases of the specialty, within most strict norms of moral and professional ethics, contributing to its development.

Objectives

• To train trauma and emergencies surgeon with skills and abilities that allow him to carry out actions of prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of patients with medical and surgical diseases resultant from an external injury.
• To comprehensively train the graduates to get a highly competent and ethical individual, able to insert himself in their social group and lead processes of social transformation.
• To develop abilities to grow critical thinking in students, that allows them to question daily life and design mechanisms for continuous search of scientific truth.
• Promote a permanent teaching attitude on graduates towards his colleagues, paramedical staff and patients, under the idea that shared knowledge generates new knowledge.
