Mission

We are a group of professionals who constitute the Department of Pediatrics, which is part of the Medicine program of the University of Valle's Faculty of Health. This department contributes to social, ethical, scientific, and administrative formation of pediatric sciences to undergraduate and postgraduate students, generating comprehensive and qualified professionals to provide effective, sensitive and efficient medical service in solving child's physical and mental health problems. For this, we observe preventive, curative and rehabilitation aspects that goes from fetal life until end of adolescence.

Objectives

The Pediatric Program general objective is to train professionals with the necessary medical knowledge, skills and criteria that allow them to conceptualize, monitor and contribute to solve child's health problems. We aim to have a comprehensive health view, observe preventive, curative and rehabilitation aspects, and take a biological, social and psychological perspective of a stage of life characterized by growth and development ranging from fetal life to end of adolescence.
