Mission

The University of Valle's ORL section has as mission to generate and transmit scientific and technical knowledge in offered areas in undergraduate and postgraduate formal education, by integrating teaching, research and extension with international relations and community service, in order to contribute to train professionals with high scientific preparation. This, harmonized with deep sense of social solidarity, ethical commitment of the professors and with constructive critical capacity that allow to assume environmental transformation. In addition, we want to propose alternative solutions and lead change processes for community benefits through an efficient performance in a competitive and globalized world.

Objectives

To prepare  specialists able to optimally manage, both clinically and surgically most frequent pathologies of general population, to provide temporary or definitive solution to diseases of Otorhinolaryngology subspecialties according to community needs and existing resources. In addition, the training as a specialist should provide the necessary knowledge and skills in teaching and research field, to maintain the training level and, at the same time, disseminate knowledge.
