Mission

In the context of the University of Valle as a public university, the Department of Internal Medicine develops in the area of health the formation of a general physician and specialist in Internal Medicine, suitable, with academic excellence, capable in comprehensive health care of every adult, framed in ethics, fairness, sense of belonging, responsibility and respect for human being. This, to guarantee efficiency of highest scientific, technological and humanistic level through research and teaching.

Objectives

To provide specialists in Internal Medicine, suitable, ethical, integral, relevant, committed with the country and its health problems, with a biopsychosocial approach to promote prevention, treatment and rehabilitation with specific knowledge of the etiological, pathophysiological, pharmacological mechanisms and preventive clinical aspects of nosological entities in adolescents, adults and elders.
